Ueno Park lunch in November

November 14th

I went to Ueno Park for my usual outdoor lunch. It was lunch with the yellow leaves of ginkgo fluttering. As expected, it became a little cold around 4 pm in November.
This time, two new members who are different from usual participated. One is Professor H, who specializes in linguistics at the university. The other is Mr. Y, a graduate student studying AI. And I and Miss M, a labor and social security attorney.
This outdoor lunch is an event that started because we couldn't eat in the cafeteria due to the corona. That's why I don't always decide on a theme and get together, but the conversation naturally gets excited. There may be something in common even if the fields of specialization are different and the place of birth is different.

Tenugui shop Chojiya (丁子屋)

Today I went to a long-established tenugui shop in Nezu. The purpose is to give Christmas presents to friends living abroad.
I visited Chojiya (丁子屋) for the first time and it was a wonderful shop. It is located in the popular Yanesen (谷根千) recently, but it is located in a quiet back alley right next to Yanaka Ginza. The clerk was very kind. It is difficult to choose because there are various product designs.
Tenugui are reasonably priced, traditional and modern. There are various designs depending on the age and taste of the preference. It is also practical as an accessory, so it is recommended as a gift.

Outdoor lunch at Ueno Park

The end of last week

I had an outdoor lunch with my friends at Ueno Park. This time, Mr. R from Taiwan, Mr. K from Dubai, and myself. This is the 5th time. We couldn't go far and go to the restaurant with our friends because of the corona wreck. So I bought Kentucky Fried Chicken with an international student and had lunch at the park. That is the beginning of this event. The location of lunch changes every time.

It is recommended because you can stay cool and comfortable under big trees in summer. This time it was in the trees in front of Ueno Zoo and Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum. There are many families here and it is peaceful. We met for the first time in a long time, so the conversation was endless.

No other place near JR station has such a big park. There are also numerous museums, concert halls and zoos. The exit of JR is the exit of Ueno Park Station.

Introducing my jobs

Today I would like to introduce my work.
I used to work for a company until last year, but now I'm freelance drawing illustrations. This is the work I did when I was young. My main work was illustration for magazines and books, and designing T-shirts. Illustrations are now being used on the Internet.
Below is a design of a recently made children's T-shirt.
It's a blissful time to do this job while listening to my favorite music. The songs are miscellaneous. From popular music to classical music. The music I listen to depends on the mood of the day.
You can tell my generation from the songs I listen to. When you come to Japan, if you have a chance to go to karaoke, sing the song introduced in this blog and you will be praised from middle age.
Of course, even if you sing Japanese anime songs, you will be popular.

Today's song: "Atsuki Kokoroni" Akira Kobayashi and Eiichi Ohtaki

The Tokyo National Museum

I went to Ueno Park yesterday. There is a big female banner in front of the Tokyo National Museum!
The Tokyo National Museum is a solid museum that aims to preserve and open 110,000 historical cultural properties, but there was a collaboration event between the idol group Nogizaka46 and Japanese art (reproduction).

Life is wonder.

This is the first update in 10 years.

Life is wonder.

I lived in Tokyo for over 20 years when I was young. And it's been 17 years since I returned to the countryside. I never imagined that I would return to Tokyo and Life is too short! 光陰矢の如し!

In Tokyo, I live in a city with many universities. Because of that, I made many young friends from overseas. Since Ueno Park was near, I enjoyed an outdoor lunch with them in the park whenever I had the opportunity. There are also cherry blossom viewing, Sento(japaneas public baths), okonomiyaki, joya no kane, fireworks, and Tsukiji tours.

Unfortunately, many students have returned to their home countries because of the Corona disaster. Currently, it is connected by SNS. And everyone wants to come back to Japan. Next, I would like to guide them to the wonderful places in Shinshu.

Life in Shinshu and life in Tokyo, just town and country. Shinshu is the old name for Nagano prefecture. Also called Shinano.

The photo is the T-shirt I made at that time.
